Dr Bhattacharyya studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and graduated with a Masters in Medicine degree from the University of Sydney. He completed his haematology training at Westmead and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals in Sydney. In 2013, he completed a bone marrow transplant fellowship at Sydney’s St Vincent’s Hospital, and in 2014 Dr Bhattacharyya travelled to Seattle, Washington to undertake a research fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Dr Bhattacharyya obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in Australasia in 2012. He is also a member of RACP and HSANZ. In 2015 Dr Bhattacharyya was awarded the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand’s New Investigator Scholarship to conduct research into immune reconstitution following allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, USA. Dr Bhattacharyya is also a Clinical Lecturer at The University of Sydney.
