Camile is a dual AHPRA registered specialist in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology with sub-specialty training in Oral Oncology. He is a Consultant in Oral Medicine at Perth Oral Medicine & Dental Sleep Centre and Fiona Stanley Hospital, and Consultant Oral Pathologist with Australian Clinical Labs and Qscan Radiology Clinics. Camile obtained his undergraduate dental degree from the University of Western Australia, followed by a PhD in Oral Pathology & Immunology and specialist training in both Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at the University of Queensland. He gained further experience in oral diagnostic sciences at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London, UK. Camile is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (Oral Medicine), the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia, the International Academy of Oral Oncology, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Australasian College of Health Service Management, and the Australian Institute of Management. He is a Member of the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists, the Australia & New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Camile is a clinical pathologist with 23 years’ experience in oral medicine and oral pathology with particular interest in oral mucosal pathology, salivary gland pathology and bone pathology, and a focus on oral oncological research and precision medicine. He has published upwards of 175 scientific papers and book chapters, and is senior editor and author of a 3-volume authoritative textbook entitled “Contemporary Oral Medicine” comprising 45 illustrated chapters and more than 2,500 pages of information on oral and maxillofacial diseases and disorders. He is also Associate Editor for the “Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine” and “Oral Cancer”, and a Reviewing Editor for “Oral Diseases”. Until recently he served as Dean & Head of Dentistry, Professor of Oral Oncology, and Director of the Oral Health Centre of WA at the University of Western Australia.
