Leading pathologist recognised for research work Fellow at Melbourne University

Clinical Labs Pathologist, Dr Sureshni Jayasinghe has been appointed Honorary Fellow at the Department of Pathology, The University of Melbourne, in recognition of her contribution to research.

The Clayton based Anatomical Pathologist has collaborated with investigators of the Australian Breast Cancer Family Study at the Genetic Epidemiology Laboratory, Department of Pathology and the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics at The University of Melbourne.

The Australian Breast Cancer Family Study commenced in the early 90s and is a population-based family study of early-onset breast cancer carried out in Melbourne and Sydney that has recruited women diagnosed with an incident primary invasive breast cancer reported to the respective state cancer registries.

Dr Jayasinghe is co-investigator and co-author of the study.
