Dr Song Chen is a senior laboratory haematologist. She obtained her fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) after training in haematology at The Alfred Hospital Melbourne, Healthscope Pathology Melbourne (former Australian Clinical Labs), and St John of God Pathology (Geelong). Dr Chen currently holds positions at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Australian Clinical Labs as a consultant haematologist. Her interests are the diagnosis of thalassaemia/haemoglobinopathy, including neonatal diagnosis of rare haemoglobinopathies, morphological diagnosis of haematological malignancies, and flow cytometry. She has been extensively involved in haematology registrar teaching with the RCPA training program.
