Clinical Labs COVID-19 collection & testing
From 1 January 2023, to obtain a Medicare-funded PCR test you will require a doctor’s referral.
Clinical Labs can collect and receive specimens from asymptomatic and mildly unwell patients.
If you are acutely unwell, please go to your local Emergency Department, with the recommendation to call ahead.

Clinical Labs offers travellers the ability to purchase the below COVID-19 Travel Tests through our secure web portal covidtraveltest.com.au.

To order a COVID Travel Test, simply visit covidtraveltest.com.au and complete these 4 easy steps:
- Order your pre-departure COVID-19 travel test
- Print your Travel Test Referral Form
- Visit a Clinical Labs Travel Collection Centre with your Travel Test Referral Form and your passport
- Receive email with digital COVID-19 Travel Certificate containing verifiable QR Code
These tests are available for asymptomatic travellers only and there is no Medicare rebate available. A doctor's referral is not required. Travellers are emailed a referral form once they purchase their test.
