Dr Jayasinghe completed her medical studies and postgraduate specialist training in Histopathology in Sri Lanka, and migrated to Australia in 2007. She trained as an Anatomical Pathology Registrar rotating through Monash Medical Centre and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre before obtaining her FRCPA in 2011. Dr Jayasinghe worked as an Anatomical Pathologist at the Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne before joining Healthscope Pathology (now Australian Clinical Labs) at The Northern Hospital in 2012. Currently, she is based at the Australian Clinical Labs central laboratory in Clayton. She is an Honorary Fellow at the Department of Pathology, The University of Melbourne and contributes in an honorary capacity to research, in particular, to familial breast cancer research. She is a member of the International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP), the Australian Society for Breast Disease (ASBD) and the Australian Division of the International Academy of Pathology. While Dr Jayasinghe enjoys a wide range of histopathology/cytopathology work, her special interests are in urology, breast and gynaecological pathology. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at conferences.
