Update for Victorian Covid-19 Testing

As of Friday 14th January 2022, following consultation with the Victorian Health Department and the regulators, Clinical Labs has taken the decision to classify any Victorian-based samples that are over seven days old as not suitable for testing. Impacted patients will be notified via text message in the near future.

We regret the inconvenience caused to our patients by the delay in results. Our laboratory staff are doing all they can in getting through the current backlog, and like all pathology companies in Victoria, we have seen an unprecedented volume of samples enter our laboratories during the latest surge. We are doing all that we can to provide fast & accurate PCR results.

I have received a text message about my sample being invalid, what now?

Following the recent directive that came into effect on Friday 14th January 2022, all samples over seven days old are no longer classified as suitable for testing. This is consistent with other public and private pathology providers. Impacted patients, referrers and institutions will be notified.  If you are experiencing symptoms or require a test for other reasons, it is recommended you follow the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services requirement, please visit Coronavirus (COVID-19) Victoria | Coronavirus Victoria for further information.

Do I still need to isolate or get re-tested?

You must follow the requirements of the Department of Health & Human Services. If you are experiencing symptoms or require a test for other reasons, please visit Coronavirus (COVID-19) Victoria | Coronavirus Victoria for further information.
