Focus Haematology

Focus Haematology is a preparation course for the RCPA Haematology Exam

The Focus Haematology course has been designed to support laboratory training for future haematologists and is coordinated and hosted by Dr Chris Barnes, Clinical Labs' National Director of Haematology. The course features insight presentations by some of Australia's leading Haematology specialists. Attendees are presented over 8 hours of useful content, including topics such as 'Anticoagulation Strategies' & 'How I passed the RCPA Haematology Exam', with a focus on subjects that are relevant to the forthcoming Royal College of Pathologists Haematology Exam. This is currently the only course like this offered in Australia and the feedback from the 2019 inaugural course was extremely positive with comments from attendees, such as, "A must-attend for haematology registrars" and "This course is a godsend for us".

Qualifications: MBBS, FRACP, FRCPA Speciality: Haematology Areas Of Interest: Paediatric Haematology, Non – malignant haematological conditions including thrombosis and bleeding disorders A/Prof Chris Barnes is a clinical and laboratory-trained haematologist and the National Director of Haematology at Australian Clinical Labs. He also works as Director of the Haemophilia TReatment Centre at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne.
